The first 100 days of Luna-Tara!

100 Days
Luna-Tara is a Nepali dog, which we adopted in February this year.

100 days are over now. What are 100 days? Can there happen a lot? You would say, not much? However, not for our Luna, for her, her whole life changed in these 100 days. A new country, a new life, a new home. Two “strange” people who are present day and night, a “strange” bird that is part of the family ☺ A life with a completely different daily format. Not laying in the sun all day, but living in a house. Walking three times a day on a line! There are a lot of toys, (what do you do with that?), a basket to lay in, meeting other dogs, going to the dog school and dog care etc. etc.

What I notice when looking back at these 100 days, it can be divided in 3 parts:
1st month
This month is about arriving.
Luna sleeps a lot, is very reserved and does not really make any contact to us.
Her safe place is her box.
Luna-Tara 2nd month
This month is about discovering and learning.
Luna becomes curious, she plays a bit with her teddy bear and a ball. She gets to learn a lot of new people and places and goes on holiday for the first time.
3rd month
This month is about connecting.
We clearly notice that she wants to be more frequently with us, seeks contact and wants to be with us.
Being alone is getting more difficult.
She looks happier and waggles her tail, which was rarely the case. Slowly a connection is growing between us. She begins to realize she belongs to us and has a new family who loves her.

For us it was often difficult to see her being so sad. She had no happiness and did not know what to do with the whole situation. The only thing we could give her and still give her was/is time, patience and love.

Our life has changed drastically over the past 100 days, with many ups, but also with some downs,
but … we are very happy with our Luna-Tara and hope there will be many beautiful, happy and funny days in future!
