Animal inspiration in Solukhumbu

Solukhumbu-Nepal

While trekking in Solo, the lower part of the Solukhumbu (Everest) region, animals accompany me during the whole day. It is amazing how beautiful nature, people and animals are in this region.

People depend on animals in this area. The animals support them during their daily work, but people also depend on them for living. Cows, chicken, goats and yaks are for the meat. Mules, buffalo´s, cows and yaks help them to manage the work in the fields. It is very beautiful to see and for us nowadays unusual to see how people and animals work and live together en depend on each other very strong.

I enjoy seeing many birds, lizards, a snake, squirrels and of course dogs and cats. Dogs are important to guide and watch over the home and land. Some are really frightened and bark a lot, but most of them enjoy when I talk to them, give them some food and for all giving them attention. They really enjoy the touch and love they get, lay down, close eyes and enjoy the caressing. It is so amazing how they enjoy a touch and attention. Normally nobody touches a dog while on trekking. It is always said, don´t touch a “wild” street dog. But I cannot pass a dog without saying anything and when he likes it, giving him some attention and a “hug”.

Solukhumbu-Dog KaliFor me, again, it is a confirmation that every living being needs love, attention and sometimes a touch. Many thanks to all the animals of Solukhumbu which I have met. They made my trip more nice, beautiful and interesting.

I have got to know a new region in Nepal / in the world that is very special!!!

Danyabad/thank you!
